Lindy Hop... SAVOY... Swing! January 16th 1938 was a special night in Harlem
for jazz and dance lovers. You had the SAVOY Ballroom swinging with Chick Webb
battling Count Basie on the bandstands: AND Billie, Ella and Jimmy singing and
wailing away! Harlem's Lindy Hoppers couldn't get enough - the joint was
jumpin'.... 75 years later on Wednesday Janaury 16th 2013 be in Harlem for the
celebration of this historic night! The Harlem Swing Dance Society (THSDS)
welcomes you to revisit this era and classic music of Chick, Count, Billie
Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Jimmy Rushing. Jazz, Blues, Lindy Hop/Swing and
excitement is in store with The Harlem Renaissance Orchestra leading the way! A
free dance lesson will start at 6pm: Social dancing, refreshments, and
surprises will start at 7pm and continue till 11pm. Seasoned Seniors can attend
for only $10, and theres a student discount with proper ID. For more info
