The Script in the Closet is a farce about jelousy, relationships and creativity.

THE SCRIPT IN THE CLOSET is Joyce’s first full length dramatic play written as a member of the Harlem Arts Alliance writing workshops.  She received an Arthur Miller Fellowship for her one act play FORMERLY KNOWN as SARAH, which she has performed at the Museum of the City of NY, Lincoln Center Institute, the National Arts Club, and at Philadelphia’s New Freedom Theatre.  New Heritage Theater produced staged readings of Joyce’s full-length musical, MADAM C.J. WALKER – A Musical Biography, also at The Museum for the City of NY.  Joyce’s screenplay PO’ ROBIN and UNCLE BAY, written as a Harlem Arts Alliance Screenwriting Workshop Fellow, is currently being submitted for production.  As performer, Joyce played the highly-praised role of Bag L in the 2010 Hell And High Water at the Hudson Guild Theatre.   Her other performances include leads in COTILLION, with the New Federal Theater and in FROM THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA, produced by the Negro Ensemble Company.   A Lincoln Center Institute Teaching Artist, she holds Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA memberships; and as vocalist, her jazz duo cd ALONE TOGETHER is available at
