The Individual Artists presentation will focus on the Individual Artist Program Film, Media, and New Technology Production category; however, those applying to Theater Artist and Composer Commissions categories are welcome to attend as there is much overlap. NYSCA funding supports documentary and narrative works, interactive/digital technology, animation, and radio. Projects can be a combination of media, including but not limited to work for tape, installation, single-channel work, or interactive disc formats.

Artists at various career stages are welcome to apply. Grant amounts range from $5,000 to $25,000. Documentary projects must be in the post-production phase. All applicants must have proof of New York State residency and a fiscal sponsor. If you are not currently fiscally sponsored, NYFA accepts Out-of-Cycle applications to its Fiscal Sponsorship Program.

Special Arts Services (SAS) supports programs that engage the arts to address the changing needs of New York's most vulnerable populations, including people in geographically-remote areas with limited cultural offerings; disabled communities; the aging; impoverished and homeless populations; and court, jail, and prison-involved juveniles and adults.

SAS funding supports both established and emerging organizations. The program encourages collaborations and innovative projects, either multi-disciplinary or focused on a specific discipline of the performing arts, visual arts, or media. SAS also supports professional arts training, promoting advanced study as well as the entry of underserved artists pursuing arts careers. All applicants must have proof of New York State residency.
